  3. The Osage Nation should have plenty of money for Historic preservation and yet my tax dollars are going to a bunch of crooks and thieves. Are the politicians going to call their homes historic sites so they can get an extra bedroom added to their houses?
It's funny how the Osage Nation claims sovereignty when subverting laws but they gladly stick their hand out for the American taxpayer dollar.

You can give the Osage Nation a billion dollars and they will come up with creative
ways to waste the money. The Nation cannot allow any funds to reach the people.
Those people with certain names easily make $50,000 to $100,000+ with 1,500 bonuses.
Give the Nation more money and those people will make $100,000 to 200,000+ with 5,000 bonuses.
The Nation is so corrupt. I'm looking for to it's ultimate demise.
And yes dear Osages the Nation will collapse.

    3. They just can't play by the rules. In the end, it's really about whether or not you're sophisticated enough to do so. Perpetrating massive fraud continuously over the years and thinking that you can get away with it with outside parties and counterparties isn't smart, it's just asking for total and complete ruin. I can't get over these entirely phony people who for the most part run the government. Year after year, day after day...

The Osage LLC and the other ventures the Nation creates is designed to lose money.
They set up a company, bleed it dry, pocket the money, and declare losses for a tax break.
The Cronies make all the money and not one red cent is ever offered to the people.
The people on the hill are not Osage. They're self-righteous greedy dogs that go around sniffing each other's butts pretending to be important.

      Delete
    9. I feel a need to set the record straight on the claim that the companies are operated at a loss for a tax break, as it just isn't so. Osage LLC, Tallgrass Economic Development LLC, and all of the subsidiaries are all filed with the IRS as "Governmental Entities" and claimed to be tax exempt entities, even though the IRS website contains information specific to the Osage that such companies would be taxable.

The fact is that the only real problem these companies could face with the IRS is if they failed to file the taxes, as there is no tax owed when all you ever do is lose money.

I'm surprised that the IRS has not classified these businesses as hobbies and shut them down. This often happens when a business operates for a few years and fails to ever make a profit.

      Delete
    10. To the poster at April 29, 2017 at 4:37 PM, Osage LLC actually turned down the $2.5 million allocated to build The American statute.

    11. I know that! It was that silly Congress who gave it to them in the first place. My point, by way of example, is that we have a spending problem and that problem lies at the feet of the twelve elected members of the Osage Nation Congress who vote to appropriate and give out our money for crazy, mindless, inane stuff like this. They have no idea what they are doing unless this kind of spending is to keep the money away from all of us who aren't part of the special class of Osages who directly benefit from it in Osage County. Once all the money is spent yearly on the budget, then they are in a position to say, "Oh well, sorry, maybe next year." This goes on for four years until one or more of them, just prior to election time, comes up with an idea that will benefit all Osages and then they pass it through the Congress, I am presuming, in the effort to protect their cushy little unconscionably high paying part time jobs. Meanwhile for four long hard years, we suffer while $200,000 to $300,000 is spent, in the main, on them and their families who benefit in Osage County.

      Delete
    12. These people are so invested in keeping the money in their own hands, they don't even allow themselves to laugh out loud at some of this stuff that comes across the floor of the Osage Congress. If they really are taking seriously a lot of what they spend our money on then we are in real trouble people.

Right now, I'm in the 21st Century and what I'm worried about are these Arses and Idiots running the ONG who have killed our reservation, killed the use of $20,000,000 and counting and are now killing the golden gooses we call the Casinos moving money around so fast, no one knows what's happening!!!!! Where are Grann and Dennison on all these deaths of different kind?

There is no difference between the Feds and the ONG. The Ong treats the Osage people and especially the Shareholders with disdain. Every Chief since Gray has lied to to the people and has done everything possible to to bust the ME. It's about greed and power and the ruination of the Shareholders. Just as the US government stole the native's land, the ONG desperately want's the ME.
Through there their own folly the ONG will collapse. Osages don't know how to manage money and would gladly stab each other in the back for personal gain.
The ONG is an embarrassment to our history and will be the demise of our future. But that's ok because as long as the people running the ONG get rich then that's all that matters.
As a reminder, Raymond Redcorn believes the ONG owns the ME and wants to tax the ME as well.
Standingbear would love nothing more that to kill off the Shareholders once and for all.
The Puking Dog clan of the ONG are pure evil.

Anyone who has read the Annual Report of these "two companies" (for really, TED is just an alter ego of OLLC) knows that the same board has been in control of both entities the entire time that TED has existed.

In reality, the companies are inseparable from a legal standpoint and TED could be sued for any wrong doing of OLLC in the past. The subsidiary companies are still really named Osage Pinnacle Design Group and Osage Innovative Solutions.

Also, TED claims to be making a "profit" on millions in contracts but continues to ask for - and receive - substantial cash infusions from the ON. If there is truly a profit being made, then where is it going?

Traties are they not binding? Then the obligation is codified by 25 CFR if I have it correctly but the obligation also is written in the U.S Constitution. I think someone is ignorant of IC (Indian Country) I have to say is at least Judge Sotomayor understands IC. The supreme court recognizes that "Domestic Dependent Nations".

    4. They might recognize us but giving tribes money with Casino operations or membership numbers so small as to be considered insignificant to the Federal government is another matter. The value in a government to government relationship is, and always has been, money and how much is available from the Federal government for programs. Doesn't matter that we are taxpayers too. That's part of the good reason there is a public outcry when non-essential spending takes place on the part of Tribal governments where constituents and members of a particular Tribal community are concerned; here on this blog with reference to the Osage Nation government and elsewhere with other Tribal communities, whose members don't benefit first and foremost no matter where they live when spending occurs on the part of a Tribal government, especially when they have income coming in from gaming revenue that is supposed to benefit Tribal members first by law (NIGA). God knows they receive enough money from the Feds using numbers that are 80% Osage living out of the actual service area in Osage County and we don't all see a reciprocal amount coming to us in Tribal funding to all of us despite most of the revenue coming from our gaming operations.

    5. Live in Session today, the Congress voted against the bill on the new election bill. Again, the excuse was given that it is easier on the election board to do it this way to match the election filing dates for the Chief and the Assistant Principal Chief. C. Shaw reminded the Congress that there is a Primary involved for that election and no need for the additional time because the Congress does not have a Congressional Primary. Good. I for one do not want a Congressional Primary. From the last election we saw very few who came forward to throw their hat into the ring to serve the Osage people as their representatives.

    6. The new Election Bill, ONCA 17-89 is now up on the website at https://www.osagenation-nsn.gov/who-we-are/congress-legislative-branch/legislation but none of the changes show as redlined to enable the Osage people to determine what the changes were before the bill was voted down...40 pages worth of text and no way to determine at face value what has been changed. As this directly involves the membership, it should be at our convenience and we should be able to have these changes made available to us and at hand. It appears more often than not that the Election Board and the Supervisor are structuring these elections to benefit themselves and not us. Elections are always ditch digging dirty hard work in any event and those on the Board or who work in the Election Office who cannot come up to speed and make the grade should perhaps look to the Osage Nation for another less challenging job? According to the Osage Constitution, this is a government about and for the Osage People. We need the best service we can get from all who work at the Osage Nation on our behalf. If it gets a bit rugged at times, so be it.

      Delete
    7. What is it about this that the Board and the Election office doesn't get? In the last Congressional election, there were a shocking number of ballots that were under voted. What that means is that the Osage Nation electorate was unsatisfied with the candidate choices that were there to vote for in this particular past election. We need more choices, not less and nothing should be done by the Election Board or the Supervisor to narrow the number of candidates who represent the Osage people. If this is an attempt at changing filing dates to sneak up on us to add a Congressional primary in the legislation at some future date, snap that idea in half right now.

    8. I'd be happy if these election people would quit working on the election bill and the rules and the regulations because they are always loaded with more and more penalties for those who run for office. I don't care if the election team work in the light, either. I'd like them to quit work on all these changes and get down to the hard work at hand when the time comes for the elections and not complain about the work load. Sheesh!

      Delete
    9. Why is it that dedicated, meaningful, important hard work is so difficult to come by with some of the Osages? They want to control things and run them but not do what's necessary to work hard and make a success of it. Complaints about this have been going on for as long as I've been around and that's a long time. Getting down to business with them is difficult a lot of the time. Reliably unreliable is what a cousin of mine used to say way back in the day. I heard they have been crafting that election bill to keep out as many outsiders from running for office and work as little as possible. Like that recount where they were only counting the ballots of the candidate paying for the challenge. You never heard such flimsy excuses for why this was the right thing to be doing when a practice like that's as crooked as a dog's hind leg. Why they weren't all fired on the spot for even trying to float an idea like that is just amazing to me. The last recount brought and paid for by that Red Eagle who ran for office did come up with some ballot count differences as I recall. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

    1. I know for certain that at the time of the Osage Government Reform Commission when and while still at work that there was definite representation and justification to me -- when I said that a Constitutional form was too big a government for only 5,500 registered Osage Nation members at the time -- that a Constitutional form of government was chosen because it is based on the U.S. Constitution including legal precedents set out so that we wouldn't be flying blind or having to reinvent the wheel.
This was a willful representation to me that is being kicked out from under all Osage Nation members, myself included, leading to what I believe amounts to a fair and level charge of Judicial “bait and switch” by SCOTON Justices Meredith Drent and Drew Pierce who I wasn't aware were even around in the 2005/2006 time period when the Osage Nation Constitution was being framed and heavily touted.
Drent was out in California in 2009 and before. View the Message of the President at http://www.calindianlaw.org/uploads/2/8/4/5/28458371/cila_newsletter.2009.04.12.pdf

They will last a year and you can drink from almost anything. Do not go looking for your family members meet at yhe place designated if at all possible. Mine is a mountain peak the highest one near our home and or last gas station headed out of town for example. Have a contingency plan, or back up plan but be quick. Looks to be bunkers are in the future if so have at least a three year supply? But not in our life time will we see the world as we know it to come to an end.

A two way radio is very necessary, batery and solar powered with a cell phone charger with a hand crank as well. Cheap and good to have. Thats why I will be on the highest mountain if there is no fall out of course. Hope this helps as well.

The Trustee always controls the property on behalf of and for the benefit of the beneficiaries in every legal trust arrangement on this side of the planet, especially at the Federal level with an Indian Trust relationship handled and administrated by the BIA. Do you really want our Chief going to Washington, D.C., to end the Mineral Estate Trust we have now with the BIA exercising some kind of hybrid trust responsibility out in limbo somewhere that won't include any legal protection in Federal or State Court and us having to legally defend every move we make with attempting to get paid on the oil and gas taken out of the ground with attorneys like Gentner Drummond telling all the land owners to lock up their gates and the Osage Nation running things like they've run the Osage, LLC at a loss of $19,000,000 and hundreds of thousands of dollars going to the Osage Nation Energy Services LLC which hasn't done a single thing but collect hefty paychecks monthly for the Board Members and buy a building? As of April 2017, the e-edition of the Bigheart Times has been out of commission to downloads online. We purchased a year's subscription that will expire in the first week in September 2017. Do you think that the editor and owner of the BHT would e-mail us with a refund or send us a print copy in lieu of what we paid for and have not received in the last four months? Not so... It seems that there are some bad cheloveks (Russian for hombres) sitting right at their desks at the Bigheart Times office too.

With Russia vacating the Russian Embassy in San Francisco and burning their documents as I write this comment, and the report of Klaxon sirens going off in Japan in the last 24 hours, I’ve got to tell you, I am getting to be largely concerned about this situation. In the event of a thermonuclear war, see the map for missile silo sites that are considered to be prime targets if Russia should join the fight. See http://diyprepping.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/life0602.jpg
Driving away from these locations if war is declared by either North Korea, Russia or the USA may well be the only option to avoid drifting fallout unless you are within range of an area that is subject to an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) and everything electronic becomes no longer operational including vehicles. A very bad business indeed if the balance shifts and the scales tip in the wrong direction...

    4. I have been hearing about EMP on talk radio for over 10 years at least, about how vulnerable we are, and trying to bring it to the attention of the government to "act on." Politicians have written books about it, to no avail. (Unless it's a top secret and there is a secret technology to stop such a missle.)

Probably the first reaction is "panic," and a run on to grocery store. The shelves will be empty in a few hours or less. Did you see on the news last week where a "video" showed a woman pulled out a gun and pointed face blank on another woman over a merchandise at a Walmart?

If there is an EMP attack, considering on the extent of damage and area, there's no telling how long it will stay down, so at least put a little water and food back.

  59. Question for the members of the Supreme Court of the Osage Nation:

What does this passage indicate and suggest in the Osage Constitution as to the power of the Legislative Branch to make changes to line items in fiscal budgets for all branches of the Osage Nation government?

Article VI - Legislature, Section 13 Paragraph 2:
"If a bill presented to the Principal Chief contains several items of appropriation of money, he may veto one or more of the items while approving the bill. At the time the bill is signed, the Principal Chief shall append to it a statement of the items vetoed, and the vetoed items shall not take effect. If the legislature is in session, he shall transmit to Congress a copy of the statement, and the items vetoed shall be separately reconsidered. If on reconsideration, any item is approved by three fourths (3/4) of the members elected to Congress, it is a part of the law notwithstanding the objections."

I submit that the Osage Nation Congress has the power to make adjustments to any and all budgets on a line item basis whether the Judicial or the Executive Branch likes it or not. Furthermore, these legal opinions on this subject of the Osage Nation Supreme Court are in and of themselves unconstitutional and have robbed the Osage people of the power to have a say through our Legislative Representatives as to how our money is being spent! VOTE AGAINST RETAINING EVERY SINGLE SUPREME COURT JUSTICE OF THE OSAGE NATION IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION IN JUNE OF 2018 !!!!!!!!!!! I am sickened unto death of this continuous Osage "Gavotte" that the Executive and Judicial Branches have been doing on top of the heads of the members of the Osage Nation Congress and therefore, on all of us members of the Osage Nation. Here's one Osage precedent we can set and that's to throw all three of these Supreme Court Justices right out the front door of the Judicial building to land flat on their keesters.

  62. Important Appropriation Committee Meeting!
Data gathering information for how they come up with these outrageous figures for compensation pay scales for base salaries, raises and bonuses for our employees in spite of what we can actually afford at https://www.osagenation-nsn.gov/multimedia/live-media
We need to start looking at the size of the pot for yearly distribution before we insist on being competitive with pie-in-the sky pay scales as to the science (?) of how they come up with these figures. If these employees directly service the Osage people where it concerns direct services to the entire membership then such employees become valuable and also the fact that they hire from within on average is another consideration. Why is it even necessary to be so focused on being competitive as a justification when they don't usually hire from the marketplace outside the Tribal community especially since there is Osage preference to begin with? You apply these employment "science" measures on a scale based on who you need to hire if you can afford to hire them. The value of an employee is directly related to how well they service the Osage Nation member with government services and if they are needed to provide direct services to the membership. If the income is fixed and the services are not increased to the membership, at some point, this eventually gets turned upside down where the cost of the employee is denying the membership the increases they need to have yearly improvements to or more direct services made available for them as a whole. Where in the “merit metrix” increase and market scale "science" for that analysis? Don’t the membership “merit” first and foremost? Services to the people first and employees to service those direct services to accommodate those services next. Any other plan is turned on its head. At what point do these employees become harmful to the future of direct services and therefore harmful to the entire membership? When is someone going to come up with the “science” for that metric where the employees just flat out just cost too much for what service they provide to the point to where direct benefits have to be scaled back in order to be able to afford all these employees who cost too much in the first place? Give me the percentages and value for that metric and then you will be making sense for once in the midst of all this dismal convoluted nonsense to provide excuses to justify the full scale robbing and looting of the Osage Nation Treasury on the part of greedy government employees and and those who justify that greed with scientific analysis metrics and models that are nothing other than smoke and mirrors.

Today, I want to pay tribute and my deepest respects to the Cassini Mission to explore the planet Saturn that ended earlier this morning when the spacecraft, in its Grand Finale, entered the atmosphere of Saturn and was no more. I want to share the photograph of those shown in the URL below who worked on this science mission with a spacecraft of their creation that actually ascended and descended through the very rings of Saturn among so many other things that it accomplished in the furtherance of our knowledge of Space science. Think about that and try to wrap your mind around it…

What I learned from this mission is that there are extremely intelligent, mature and forward thinking people on this planet who can come together and work toward a dream that they could make not only come true but happen in wondrous ways that not even they could hope to imagine. Yes, Star Wars and Star Trek and cartoon characters are fine entertainment but these men and women of the Cassini mission are the real action figures, the real action heros, the real Titans of our times, make no mistake, and I don't want this very important fact of our lives to go without credit and without being honored, especially today with the end of the Cassini mission. These are the people on this planet whose leadership by example should be emulated by those who are at the high school, college and at the university level in this country and who are at comparable educational levels world wide and I sincerely hope that this mission will direct the attention of all those who provide guidance for these young people to have them look very seriously in the direction of these very human beings who, in cooperation together, have accomplished such an astonishing marvel on earth and in the heavens.

    1. What is important to note is this sentence:
“The Osage Nation, acting through OMC [Osage Minerals Council] in fact owns the beneficial interest in the mineral estate that is the subject to the appeal,” Judge David Ebel wrote in the panel’s 27-page decision. “The district court’s decision forced OMC to watch from the sidelines as Osage Wind disrupted the mineral estate…”

I read the above sentence to mean that from a governance standpoint, the Osage Minerals Council is firmly in predominance and therefore in the cat bird seat where the running of the OME is concerned and any other part of the ON government including the Legislative, the Executive Branch and Judicial Branch of the Osage Nation must proceed through the OMC where and when matters of minerals are concerned. This chain of command is now firmly established in a Federal Court decision at the appellate level. Federal law and clarifications on that law trump Tribal law period.

I'm fairly traveled and as boutique hotels, I'd put them up against any I've seen anywhere in the world and I believe I'd win. They are beautiful in design and layout. Very functional with great flow and remarkably artistic in appearance. Wonderful ambiance all around. I stayed at a motel in Missouri and once my business was finished there, I came back to the Skiatook property with a HUGE sigh of relief. Get there and stay there for a night or a weekend. The food is delicious, the gaming parlors have lots of gaming machines to choose from and the hotel rooms are simply wonderful. I left the last morning and another couple staying in one of the rooms on my floor were as full of praise for their stay there as my own. I'm really proud of these two gaming and hotel facilities and I hope you will be too. Great for a getaway or a week of R&R. Or just for fun, what the heck! I loved it and I know you will too.
